Contact Systems Introduced its New C5 SMT Placement System
Danbury, CT, 08 Feb 2008

Contact Systems, a manufacturer of automated assembly equipment for the electronics industry, introduced its new C5 SMT placement system at the IPC Midwest show last October. The C5 can be seen at the Apex show in las Vegas in April. The new platform will reportedly have up to 10 different models built on four different base configurations. With the new platform the new C5 series will extend its market reach in two directions compared to the previous generation C5.
The C5-128 base configuration will reach a new price point that will allow smaller companies buy next generation machines at an affordable price. The C5d-256 base configuration (available early 2008) will provide ultra high true feeder capacity as compared to footprint. Still available in the product line-up are the popular C5-192 single beam and the C5d-128 dual beam configurations. Also new is the optional 8 spindle placement head for increased throughput.
